This is my mixed breed little Lola that my boyfriend and I adopted right before after Christmas 2011. She has a strong personality and is the light of our lives. She also likes to steal our seats!
We adopted this little guy when he was around 6 months old from a small rescue.
We’d been looking for a dog for my younger brother for a while and had originally decided on another rescue greyhound, but when my mum went to the rescue just for a quick look out of curiosity and saw him curled up in the corner of the big pen and couldn’t leave him.
So that day me and my brother came home from school to the most adorable little dog and he’s been the heart of the family ever since.
He’s around 1 year and 2 months old now and and he’s the sweetest little thing, our other two dogs love him too
A Labrador Retriever adopted this duckling after it’s mother was mauled by a fox, according to Yahoo News.
The duck, named Dennis was less than a week old when the tragedy struck, but Fred, the 4 year old Lab was up to the task of taking care of the little orphan. Even Fred’s owner, Jeremy Goldsmith, happily allowed the new friend.
Finding Dennis, Fred immediately began licking the little duckling clean. Since then the unlikely pair sleep together, play together and even go swimming in the local pond, according to the Daily Mail.
Goldsmith told the Daily Mail, “It is amazing to see the two of them together. When we found Dennis he was quite frail, and he clearly would not have survived another day on his own.”
Goldsmith added, “Fred grew up with all our animals and has such a loving nature that he always fathers any orphans. Though Dennis sees Fred more as mother, so I suppose he is a bit like one of those modern stay-at-home dads.”
“He absolutely adores Fred, so I am sure he will pick up some canine traits. I am expecting him to start barking and chasing cats.”
5 years ago, we lost our dog Ace. He was best friends with our other dog and after he passed away, she would hardly eat and she wouldn’t go outside anymore. After two days of this, we went to Petco and found this girl. Her name was China and we were absolutely smitten. China had been found under a steak house along with her brothers and sisters. We adopted her a few days later from our local rescue and couldn’t have gotten a better dog.
This is Parker, a 7 year old double dilute rough collie. He was adopted by a loving family, and is both blind and deaf, along with the two other dogs that are part of the family. Rescued from a horrific hoarding situation, and is now starting a life as a therapy dog. He is being trained through nosework, which is through scent and touch signals. It goes to show that he doesn’t need to hear or see to reach his full potential!
Our 2 year old Pit Bull mix Preston with his favorite toy. We adopted Preston shortly before Thanksgiving from a local Pit Bull rescue. He was found abandoned in the inner city.
Once in rescue, in a foster home setting, he flourished. An amazingly affectionate boy who loves everyone and everything he meets. Every dog and even every cat he comes across he is determined to make his friend. Polite with food and toys he is a terrific ambassador for his breed. He was awarded the honor of being featured on his rescues Christmas card this year and was even featured in an article written by the Best Friends Society about HB 14 here in Ohio that just went to the Senate to put an end to breed specific vicious dog laws here in our state. All that and he still remains humble, goofy Preston!
Preston is up for Mascot Of The Year for the rescue organization he was adopted from, the Lucas County Pit Crew. You can vote for Preston by going to their facebook page at Lucas-County-Pit-Crew and ‘Like’ their page and vote for Preston. Voting is open from Jan 26th – 30th.
Just a mere few hours after being rescued, a Saint Bernard returned the favor to an Ohio couple by saving their home from a burglary.
Injured Dog Adopted By Couple
Rubert and Elizabeth Littler adopted the 135-pound Saint Bernard from the Highland County Dog Pound to help him get back to health until they could find a permanent home or rescue group to take him.
The dog had been found by hikers injured and dehydrated, barely able to lift his head. A vet said the St. Bernard was likely a victim of a coyote attack.
While pound volunteers were looking for a home for the dog, along came Rupert and Elizabeth Littler.
A Burglar Appears!
The Littlers didn’t know when they named him Hercules, that he would live up to that name hours later.
Rubert Littler told The Times Gazette that he was taking Hercules outside when the dog started growling, pulled out of his hand and charged through the screen door to chase a man running out of their basement.
Hercules Comes To The Rescue
Hercules jumped off the porch, over the stairwell and bit into the man’s ankle as he climbed over the fence to escape. Police investigating the break-in said the Littler’s phone and cable lines had been cut. They believe the incident may be related to another break in earlier that day.
The Littlers, who already have a full house with four other dogs, said Hercules is their hero and has earned his right to stay.

This is Indu, our beautiful 2 year old mixed breed adopted puppy. We call her the Aishwarya Rai of the dog world because of her striking sky blue eyes. Indu loves all things Indian, and has done a fine job adapting to our customs. My mom taught her to wash her feet before entering the house after her walks to keep the house clean, and Indu does it so religiously that we are amazed each time. She loves kids, hikes, and running after squirrels. We all love her!
This is my 8-year old dog, Honey. My family adopted her from the pound after she was abandoned there by her previous owner right after she had 3 puppies. She now lives with us where we love her and play with her every day!
