A little Chihuahua abandoned in the middle of a freeway was rescued by a CHP officer during rush hour on Friday. The officer spotted the scared dog on the I-680 freeway’s center divider. He kept her calm and safe until animal control arrived on the scene. The Chihuahua who had no name was named Freeway, she was found with no microchip, collar or tags. She is now at the Contra Costa Animal Shelter where a lottery will be held to determine who gets to adopt her.
