And this is Sam, the only dog to survive the explosion. (Father of Quinta) We still have him, he is very old now and can barely hear due to the noise from the explosion. He may “just be a dog,” but you can feel his sadness. He lost his best friend and daughter in an explosion that nearly killed him as well.

My dad’s house blew up in 2009 because a construction company hit a nicor gas line and it began to leak, he was at work but my step mother was home with our three German Shepherds. It’s incredible that she survived, being blown out the back of the house, she was covered in 3rd degree burns. She is healed, but still recovering from the trauma.
