Kasi, a male cheetah and Mtani, a female labrador were just cub and puppy when they first met at the Busch Gardens animal park one year ago. Kasi, was just 8 weeks old and Mtani, was 16 weeks old when the pair were first introduced.
Mtani, who at the time towered over her Cheetah friend let him climb all over her.

Now, a year later, the two are still best of friends and live together full time in the Cheetah habitat at Busch Gardens, Tampa, Florida.
“Male cheetahs are social and often live together in coalitions. This social bond between Kasi and Mtani will be a very similar relationship, and they will be together for life,” explained zoo manager Tim Smith.

Visitors to the park can see Kasi and Mtani running and chasing each other around the specially designed habitat.
They also travel together to schools and communities to raise awareness of the importance of protecting cheetahs in the wild.
